This site is part of CIW, the Community of Internet Web Professionals. CIW's mission to empower individuals who want to use the latest Web technologies for Web development and design.

Welcome to the CIW community!

Welcome to the CIW Web Community. As a member of the community, you can share ideas and build upon the work of fellow CIW certified individuals and instructors worldwide. Each time you contribute to this site, CIW improves. This site also becomes a practical example of Web 2.0, which is where you create applications and solutions that improve each time someone uses them. We're excited to have you on board. In this site, we have:

  • Announcements about the CIW program.
  • Blogs: Get the scoop from James Stanger and Stephen Schneiter about the latest developments about the Web and CIW. Or, if you want to view the blogs in traditional sequential order, click on the CIW Blog Community page.
  • A forum: Share ideas with fellow instructors. We've organized the forums by each CIW course.
  • Downloads: Grab the latest software and other aids to help create a killer course.
  • Podcasts: Listen on the go to the latest teaching and technology tips from experts in the field.
  • Case studies: Wondering how to apply some of the more important, yet difficult to explain, concepts? Take a look at our case studies.
  • Polls: Weigh in on the latest technologies and practices, or provide your opinion about the next steps CIW should make. You'll see new polls popping up occasionally as we require input into the program. If you don't see a poll soon enough, and you have a killer idea, feel free to post your idea on the Suggested New Offerings forum.
  • RSS feeds: Want to keep track of the latest CIW news and blogs? Then look for the RSS/Atom feed icon at the bottom of most pages.

Please feel free to leave as many comments as you like on the pages we have all created - we're excited to include you as part of our community.

About CIW
CIW is a community of Web designers, developers, instructors and technologists. Some in our community are individuals who want to learn more about Web technologies, including blogging, Web design and Web development. Others are experienced, professional application developers. Still others are "pure" designers. Still others are in the information security field. All belong to our CIW community. This is our site. It contains blogs from those who design the CIW curriculum, as well as those who help implement it. We want to allow you a chance to grab some new ideas, take a peek at what we're thinking and doing lately, as well as a chance to contribute to CIW.

Have a great visit, and get caught in the Web!
